A hydrothermal complex project was designed following this study, thanks to the physicochemical analyses of the waters revealing a unique and unusual composition (analyses carried out in 1970 by scientists from the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Burdeos, one of the most prestigious in the world of spas). The water temperature could reach 70°C/80°C, and the volumes exploitable annually can be greater than 300,000 m3. This thermal water, the “star” resource of the Mas, has exceptional medicinal properties and a great healing power, ideal for the treatment of osteoarthritis and skin conditions. These characteristics make it possible to design spa facilities, a rest home, and other wellness infrastructures, including vapotherapy treatments. Deep water is stored in a hydrogeological reservoir located between 400 and 900 meters below the surface, ensuring a constant and reliable reserve.
In addition to this precious resource, a production line for bottling could be built; deep wells of 40 m and 60 m are located on the estate, capable of providing more than 100,000 m³ of water of good quality, per year.
The exploitation of the basalt quarry is another potentially lucrative source. The surface area of flooded basalt materials exceeds 70,000 m² with cumulative depths close to 15 m, offering a total usable volume estimated at more than 0.5 million m³.
